I know Your Future

10.000

The sculpture takes the form of an ear, inspired by a once-forgotten practice involving the “ghioc,” a large shell used for divination in matters of love. Traditionally, this shell was believed to possess mystical properties, allowing those with the gift to foresee destinies. The sculpture captures the essence of the “ghioc”, which, when held to the ear, was thought to produce an enigmatic sound—a whisper of the future. By integrating this historical and mystical element, the artist creates a symbiosis between natural and abstract forms. The shell’s shape, while reminiscent of a rock, transcends its original animalistic context, embodying a transformative relationship between different realms.

Series: Fragmented Form

This captivating series of sculptures delves into the concept of the fragment, a notion that has long intrigued and influenced the evolution of art. The artist’s exploration of the fragment challenges traditional sculptural norms, reflecting a contemporary reimagining of this ancient artistic element. In this series, the artist brings a contemporary perspective to the fragment by deconstructing traditional sculptural forms.

Each piece captures a fragmentary essence, offering a glimpse of a larger narrative while deliberately omitting parts of the story. This approach creates a sense of mystery and intrigue, inviting viewers to engage with the work on a deeper level. The fragmented form in these sculptures serves as a powerful tool for suggesting the entirety of what it represents. Rather than presenting complete objects, the artist uses partial forms to evoke the presence of something greater.

This technique not only challenges the viewer’s perception but also underscores the inherent tension between what is shown and what remains implied. By fragmenting the sculpture, the artist disrupts the continuity of the narrative, allowing each piece to stand alone as a partial story that hints at a larger context.

This method of artistic expression offers a fresh perspective on the relationship between form and meaning, highlighting how fragments can articulate a sense of wholeness through their very incompleteness.
