Beginning in 2009, this series is inspired by medieval embroidery and its interplay with textile structures. The artist’s fascination with the volumetric qualities of historical textiles emerged from early exposure to art history, particularly through studies of medieval fabric at a young age. The series reflects a deep engagement with the form and function of embroidery stitches, transforming these elements into ethereal angelic forms. As the artist delved into the context of textile structures, the concept of armure, as well as the volumetric qualities of the fabrics and their patterns became a pivotal theme.
