ALEXANDRU MARINETE

Alexandru pursued formal education in sculpture at the National Art College “Nicolae Tonitza” and later at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, where he earned his degree. His work reflects not only his training but also his experiences from various continents where he has exhibited.

For him, sculpture is about passion and the relationship between the artist and the material. He believes it is the artist’s role to contribute something meaningful to society through his work. Despite the potential to follow an easier path, he chose to remain true to his passion. “For me, it’s all about the passion,” he says. “Once you understand the stone, the marble, it’s hard to stay away from it.”

In his sculptures, Alexandru strives to convey emotions that resonate with both art specialists and everyday viewers. He sees each piece of stone as an opportunity to express feelings and connect with others, making his art both a personal and emotional investment.

Alexandru Constantin Marinete’s work seeks to engage viewers on a deeper level, inviting them to find a part of themselves in his sculptures. Through his art, he aims to help people express and understand their own emotions.
